Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have 1990 V6 4runner 3slow.

Put in new Battery, alternator, starter is only 2 years old.

Problem:
Runner would crank but slowly and would start the runner after holding igition. this lasted a couple of weeks while it had good voltage.

I went away for 4 days came back wont start without jumping. after jump still has good voltage reading on dash. I checked all cables and all are good, good connection and everything, also checked alterator fuse and its good.

any Ideas? I know I should take battery in and get it tested but is there something IM missing?

Battery is the easiest/quickest way to start. I usually have the parts store do a load test before I walk out the door with it, as I live about 26 miles from the closest one.

with the truck runnin take off your neg. cable on your battery, if the truck stays running then your alt. prolly isnt the problem, i had this same problem with my big f-250 7.3L ford diesel and i cant stress enough your battery cables have to be the sh*t trust me, i had to spend the money and get all new battery cables for the ford (has 2 batteries 130 bucks for the main cable) and i put like 2 brand new grounds off each battery, and the thing would turn over like all the cylinders were shot it was amazing, i would also agree to take your battery to a parts store they can test it for you and tell you whats up, plus its free so why not <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
