I've been looking for some time for a donor vehicle for an engine swap, and I think I may have found the one. It's a 92 Dodge Dakota, V8 4x4. I think that would make me the first Dodge raider with a Dodge Motor. Any thoughts before I buy it?

MPG difference probably wouldn't be much of an issue if overall gearing was considered. The 2.6 isn't all that great at the pump. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" />

MPG isn't a concern for me. I wheel it on weekends, and drive it 4x4 coffee night on wednesdays with the local boys. My car is the MPG machine.

I researched and gathered the parts to do the same swap but decided to stick with the 4 cylinder as well. If you do this I have one of the rare 4 barrel intake manifolds and the Mopar performance distributor to allow you to avoid all the ECU and wiring hassles. I will sell these for what I paid for them. I also have a pair headers (ceramic coated) for this motor and a pair of brand new rebuilt magnum heads.

Every time I have a carb problem I have to call my dad, lol. May be interested in the headers, I'll see what kind of room I end up with.

Can you keep us posted with pics? No luck on finding a six to use instead?
