HELP My 1991 Montero V6 will not start. There is a spark from the coil wire but low or no spark at the plug wires. What should I look for?

Check the inside of the cap for deposits on the electrodes...maybe too high resistance for the arc to jump.

New cap, rotor, and plug wires, IF the coil spark is jumping at least 1/4" and is hot blue white.

I should have told you that my son had put the plug wires on wrong. Put them on correctly and it started. Just one more question. I notice that when I disconnect one of the plug wires from a plug when the engine is running, an arch jumps at the coil near where the coil wire goes to the distributor. Is the coil going bad?

No, the coil is fine...... what's happening is the charge is taking the least resistive path to ground - in this case, the frame around the coil. Every Mitsubishi coil I've seen does it. One way to make sure your wires are installed with good connections is to raise the hood with the engine running when it's dark - and watch the coil - if it arcs, you have a bad wire connection somewhere.
