I pulled the blower motor, no specs on that.....then decided to check the fuse panel, found a 20 amp circuit breaker for the fan, will work on 20 amp.

20 Amps x 12 volts = 240 watts

However, the actual current is probably less, if you have a ammeter try measuring the current at full speed & also at each speed that still works. Then just multiply by 12 (or better yet by youe actual running voltage & get a resistor that can handle that many watts.

At 240 watts they will probably not burn out, but 2 ohms may not be enough resistance for slow speed.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I soldered a pair of the ceramic resistors from a 1/10th scale R/C car in parallel across the low speed terminals on my 1st gen. years ago when I was young and broke. I drove it another 18 months or so and never had a problem with it. I have no idea of the resistance or wattage rating of those bad boys though.


88 V6 4Runner, 3.4 swap, SAS, front E locker, rear EZ locker, dual cases 2.28/4.7, 63" Chev rears, rears up front etc.
