I am in need of a new car, and on a budget. I used to have a jeep cherokee, then sold it, and got a 2wd ford ranger. I got tired of that fast, and now I want another 4x4. I have my eye on a 87 land cruiser. everything seems real nice on it, and it runs and drives beautifully.
I just want to get some input from people who are familiar with these. anything I should look for or be aware of?
what is average gas mileage of a stock land cruiser with the straight 6 motor?

thanks.

I have no actual experience, but from all that I've heard, they are big, slow, and get bad gas mileage. Id guess around 12-14. But they are tough, and will get you anywhere you need to go.

Everything he said, plus you live in a CA, that generation usually has BIG issues passing smog. Landcruisers have always been a little different breed Toyota, you kind of have to be a fanatic to own one.

apperantly it had recently passed smog, which is good. but i ran across an offer on a wrangler that i could not refuse. I got a 94 4.0L hard top for $2000.
plus i have always been more of a jeep person anyways. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
