Hey i just recently bought a 97 kia sportage four door with a 2.0 dohc for 200 bucks it runs great but in stock form dosent do wat i want it to off road. Are there any kits to do a sas or are they all one off fabs?

1 lift kit that is available has 3-4 inch front lift from spacers made by upyourkia and using TJ rear springs. I also sell uhmwpe pucks can lift the body 1.4".
As far as a bolt on SAS, I am not aware of one.
Where are you located where Kia's are so cheap?

i live in california near fresno. it came in to the auto shop that i work at and it needed a couple of things done to it. the parts it needed wernt expensive but it was labor intensive and they didint have the money so they gave it to my boss and he was going to sell it to a junk yard for 150 so i bought it. ive spent maybe 400 plus my labor getting some of the problems fixed and puttung a sterio in it and off i go.

As far as a SAS I dont think that it can be possible with such a "Simple Budget" as is evident.

If you paid only 200.00 for this ride---You should Prolly be looking at some premier maintinence issues first!

Check out the main points at hand and rectify those first...

Do the initial stuff first--Or you are asking for problems later................

the only thing it needs donr to it is it needs a new starter and battery cables and befor next summer it needs a new radiator. its my daily driver and so far those are the only signifacant problems ive noticed. i mean its kinda beat up a little as far as paint and body work goes but if im gunna wheel it whats the point in fixing it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

auto. is the starter new

don't think you will find a new starter not even from the dealer, all of them are Remans. now, or you find a low mile used one. If your Kia has a lot of miles I would change the T/B and check tensioners and the spring, and check the pump if it's has over 100,000 miles I would change the pump. I bet it never had all the fld. replaced. they brought it in for some costly repairs check the list and do the most important then go down the list.
