Can my Rodeo be towed behind an RV by just putting the trans in neutral? Or will it mess up the trans?

If its an automatic, no. If its a 5 speed you "could" but I wouldnt do it for very far. Most vehicles that can be towed on all 4 behind an RV have a neutral on the transfer case (if 4wd). Isuzus dont. Only good way to do it is remove the drive shaft or have a drive shaft disconnect installed.

I towed my 5 speed 93 Rodeo behind my Motorhome for over 50K miles all in neutral. The tranny did finally wear out, but that was my fault.I replaced it after 150K, so I got my moneys worth out of it.
The longest trip was from North Central Texas (home base) to Vancouver and back without incident. We've done several trips to the Keys for some scuba diving excursions and all over the Eastern Seaboard with it back there.
Drop the drive shaft at the rearend yoke if your worried and tie it up to the frame. Do it a few times and it will either drive you nuts or be no big deal.
I eventaully converted the rear axle to a full floater to make the Rodeo ready to tow a whole lot easier. So much easier to dial the axles out! But, that was a custom job and very expensive. I have a write up on it here somewhere.
If you have any other questions contact me off line.
Be glad to tell you what I know.

Thanks for the info. I was asking because I have my Rodeo up for sale and someone wanted to know about towing it. I, myself, have no interest in towing it.
It is an automatic so that would be a big fat no. O well. Someone else will buy it.
