im looking to buy a toyota and well really i wanna know what to look for which is the best one to buy, i know people have there opinions but i wanna know i have like 25 different options at a dealership getting rid of some used trade ins

If you're going to be doing rock crawling then go with the RE. Otherwise i'd go with the better deal.

is that because of the efi setup. i do love to go wheeling now and again but theres not many rock climbs around here
i take it theres not many problems on either motors

both motors are great, no problems. just your basic maintenance stuff. i'd go with the 22re 5 speed

its the same exact motor. Just the 22R is carbureted and the 22RE is EFI. The EFI gives you like 10 more HP which probably isnt really notcieably. The RE is preferred, but if theres a good deal on the 22R I'd be happy with it.

Stay away from the 3.0 V6, and the automatic tranny's on the older trucks. The 22r/22re with a 5 speed is the way to go. Just keep an eye on the timing chain on these trucks, and you'll be ok.
93 4runner V6, 4.88's, 31" mt's with more to come. 03 Tundra V8 on 265's
