Getting the Wheeling Fever
Ok i got a 93 Rodeo, 3.2L Usta run great. I parked it for 6 months, and now it wont start. Im 99% sure its fuel related. When i crank it over it starts for 1 sec, then shuts back down. i removed the fuel line next to the engine, when i turn the key to run. i get about 2 seconds of a solid fuel line flow, then it stops. (is this normal?)The power to the fuel pump is shut off from something. or is it suppost to only stop flowing when it reaches a certain pressure. I dont want to spent $150.00+ for a fuel pump to find out that isn't my problem.
The fuel pump was my fist guess. but now im wondering if its a pressure switch. Or im leaning more towards a bad ECM. I have power to the ecm, and the ecm relay, the relay must be working, cause when i pull it, and put it back in. i hear the pump run for a second.

Body Damage is Cool
It sounds like your pump is OK. They run for a second or two to prime the system when you turn on the ignition. While your cranking or when it is running the pump will stay on. If you want you can put a gauge on the fuel rail and see if you have pressure there.
Depending on the miles you may want to look at the timing belt. I had one go bad at 130K and it had the very same symtoms. The belts don't break, but they lose the teeth and the crank pulley just slips.
I have found the electronics on the 3.2 to be pretty dependable, so don't imediately suspect them. Pull a plug and see if it is sparking.

1987 trooper LS.'94 3.2, SAS,35's , lots of dents and rust. Now, improved, with more dents.
1995 trooper LS. Wife won't let me improve this one.
1996 trooper. I'll need something to modify when the '87 finally rusts away.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Thanks for the info, but after seeing some other forums, ive also noticed that when i turn the key on, Im not getting a check engine light at all. Which im starting to lean towards the ECM. the motor does try to start for the first second, but thats it. and if i leave it set for a few minutes, ill get another putt. If i keep cranking, i dont get anything.
