I need new ball joints and I'm considering ball joints from KYB. I don't know if they make them or distribute them from some other manufacturer. I've only known KYB to make struts and shocks, and hydraulic stuff. Any thoughts?
Sadly I had to get rid of my 1996 Trooper 3.2L due to a rusted frame. _________________________________________________

I would stick with factory ball joints, They have the best quality that I have seen. The joints marked 555 are made by the oe supplier and are good as well.
1987 trooper LS.'94 3.2, SAS,35's , lots of dents and rust. Now, improved, with more dents. 1995 trooper LS. Wife won't let me improve this one. 1996 trooper. I'll need something to modify when the '87 finally rusts away.

You may pop one out on a rare occassion if you happen to be pushed by the majestic cows on an unknown Utah Trail known as Choke Cherry Point but they are guaranteed for life so who cares.

If you have a '96 you have the long lower ball joints. They were only used on the ~95 and up troopers and VX. The only ones I have found are the oe units. I picked up a couple of complete sets for race spares off of e-bay and paid about $150 for the complete ball joint and tie rod kit. It was by far the cheapest way to go. Now, if you buy your wheel bearings from e-bay stay away from ptc brand. I fell into that trap and ended up with chinese bearings <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
