Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've got bigger problems, but I'm going to distract myself...or bury my head in the sand... by messing with mounting my o'l CB. Bumper mount, fender cut? who's got the coolest mod? I've got plenty of space in the console for the radio...I think... but I may still put it overhead

Overhead works good, just take a piece of metal bar, bend, drill two (or three) holes to match the rearview, remove mirror, put bar in place and reinstall mirror, and voila, CB overhead mount. Then run the wires behind the windshield gasket and down the a-pillar to power. I used mine like that on my gen I's for two trucks, and liked it because the speaker was underneath on my unit, and I could hear it a lot better.

On my genII I have the cobra that fits a din panel, and mounted below my head unit (Front-mounted speaker). That works good too.

Ya know, I had a K-40 back in the 80's, loved it, It was drilled and mounted on the trunk lid of my 76 XR7, so it looked 1/2 starsky and hutch, 1/2 General lee...I went looking for another one in about 02 to mount the same way on my 69 Polara, Couldn't find a full sized whip at all.

I followed Phil's example and mounted my CB in the center console. I ran wiring to the right side of the rear bumper, drilled between the mounts for the diamond plate and put up a 7' mast. My CB antenna doubles as a flagging mount for grading projects.

Sparky's got a real cool antenna mount. Maybe he can post a pic.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

I use a CB that doesn't require mounting and can easily be changed to a portable unit by attaching an included battery pack.

I also wired an externally mounted antenna to it. The antenna is mounted to my driver side mirror.

Body Damage is Cool
Ray I see a big problem with that antenna mount. It limits tour range to about 14 mile radius from where you live. For
better use it should be on the Monty that runs

You're mistaken sir... I've been driving mine almost everyday for the past 2-3 weeks!

What are you driving these days?
