Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've placed washers under the wastegate and adjusted the rod tension and now all im getting is 15 PSI. Is there anything else i can adjust to get more boost. Plus my wastegate is always opening up almost sounds like a blow off valve. Or do i need to replace the wastegate. any ideas

There is a security valve in the intake manifold that pops open when you exceed 15psi. This is not your wastegate sounding like a BOV, it's the valve in the manifold releasing the pressure out into into the engine bay. You can remove it and replace it with a plug and then you may get something like 18-20psi but don't expect more. But I wouldn't do it since there is a reason for it being there.

It's located either under the intake manifold or at the end of it. Can't miss it it's a big ol' plug. And BOV's are for little boy's to put in their little toy subaru's to feel half the men Pajero owners are. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Spend your money on a 3" exhaust instead.

Thanks for the info. So since im already making my own 4 inch exhaust does that make me a real man. But I will question your BOV comment so does 7.3L with twins,650HP and 1100LBSTQ still make me half the man because it has a BOV installed?

The only place where a BOV is usefull is on the drag strip, no horsepower gain whatsoever, just takes out a little turbo lag and betters your time a little. Little Impreza boy's don't know that, they just put it in because it sounds like that idiotic film called 'Fast and the furious'.
Going for 4" exhaust is cool but you won't find any noticable difference from a 3", the 4D56 just doesn't breathe that heavy. 3.5" downpipe to a 3" exhaust with a good resonator would be a sweet and practical setup. The big problem with wide exhaust in the Pajero is making the bend over the rear axle, anything above 2.5" kinks unless you have a really skilled exhaust guy with super equipment.
