Here's a good one. Sender reads proper resistance. Jump sender connector sensor pin to ground pin, guage maxes out. Disconnect, guage goes to minimum. Connected to sender, with key on engine off, guage reads approximately half tank, wich is approximately right. Start motor, guage falls to approximately between 1/4 to 3/8 tank. Shut motor off, then key on engine off, guage rises to approximately half tank. I think i'm in the twilight zone. Have even tried to reground all the way to the battery. No change. I'm putting in a fuel cell this weekened, everything new. Just some food for thought.

There is a service campaign out for inspecting the fuel tank, SC059.

Go to www.bedlib.org
Scroll down to the ARRC logo, where it say 'if you are having trouble, click HERE'
Next page, click on the blue logo

Login = auto
pwd = mobile

Got pix and everything for ya. Inspecting the sending unit is part of it, at least the top, for leakage.

My Runner had a recall on the tank unit and the fuel gauge awhile back, FWIW.
