Can you explain to me how adding length to the intake makes more power? I can see it if you add fuel at the throttle plate, but otherwise it seems to me as though air is air.

The debate is ongoing. What I believe is that the only performance gains you'll realize will be the result of the computer changing the shift points and fuel trim to adjust for your new, more aggressive driving habits trying out your new "perfoming enhancing products".
But then, I'm no longer a GM drivability tech (15 months out of the business), so what do I know? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
In short, no. I don't think you'll do anything by adding it other than add another potential air leak after the airflow meter. I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole.

Wait... You said TBI, right? It may help with low-end torque. It may also cause all kinds of problems. One could be that your hood may not shut without bending the air filter assembly. Or you may find that you have a nervous idle. Or your top-end performance may be seriously degraded.
Basically, you may end up with a really good running engine in the RPM and torque range you want, or it could be a total nightmare.
