Getting the Wheeling Fever
My dash lights AND parking lights went out at the same time when I hooked up a trailer (that had non working lights). All the lights (dash, parking, headlights) came on but as soon as I opened my door (door lights came on) the dash and parking lights cut out and have not returned

I checked the fuses in the fusebox under the hood but they are fine. I've never had an electrical problem with this truck before. I need to diagnose this problem because not driving at night really sucks! Where do I start?

Did you check the fuse box inside the vehicle?

Did you know that the lights on imports are wired different than domestic ones. When you wire in a trailer plug on a import you must use the adaptor they make to convert the wiring so that the standard 4 prong flat trailer plug works correctly. This may have something to do with your problem, I would call a tailer place and ask them if this could be your problem.

Body Damage is Cool
I old be willing to bet a small fortune that the wiring harness on the vehicle has a short in it too. Check the wiring from where you plugged the trailer up towards the mainwiing bunde under the rear of the truck and see if you find any corroded or damaged wires.

Need a Spot
Check the fuse for the taillights again--replace it with another instead of just visually inspecting it. I've seen fuses blow outside of the viewing window that just drive you crazy.

Alldata says fuse 1 (red 10A) should provide power to that circuit, assuming 92 Rodeo 4x4 3.1L V6.
