Is this to big for my Monty?

Big winch

Sorry he took down his add after I bought it. So here's what he had for sale for $150.

Man, I just bought a harmonic balancer for that much. If I had the $ I'd have a hard time not pimping in on the deal.

As for the question, people in general get at least a 9k, and IIRC, the tendancy is for the MM 12k hydraulic for some reason.

For $150, I'd be all over this one. Expecially if you can get it without paying for shipping.

I don't there is such a thing as too big. Only too small...

Milemarker 10,500 is a very nice match for your rig.
I have one (not mounted yet...), Lloyd had one last I saw, and so did a few other 2 dr Gen 1's.

Lots of quiet power. Should be 2 speed. With cable, it weighs ~90 lbs.

You MIGHT need to upgrade your power steering pump, not too sure on that. Lloyd ran his off the 3.0's pump though.

Nice price...

You'll need to get some hydraulic fittings. MM sells a "kit" with a collection of them, but it may be cheaper just to get them custom made.
Make sure the mount is SOLID. That winch will PULL HARD.

Maybe I missed it in the description, but is that one power in and power out, or power in only (it came in both versions). Power out lets you lower youself down a slope.

I have a 10k electric winch on mine. I don't think it's too big. OTOH, I haven't actually used it yet

I don't know if it or not, either way I'll get it.

Thanks all for the information you all, the owner is a fishing club member I belong to, so we'll meet next week and do the deal.

good price but you will need to buy a solenoid valve kit for about $200-250 to be able to use it and of course custom hoses/fittings

Update

Yesterday I went and bought the winch. Paid what he was asking, $150, as I thought it was more than fair. It came with a box of about ten fittings, eight hoses of difference lengths, the solenoid valve, circuit breaker, wire, manuals and a cover for the winch, all from Mile Marker. He said after he bought it, he call MM to order some different length hoses and they sent him four more hose and fitting for free.

Mile Markerweb page It's the model 75-50050C, Freespooling, Power IN/OUT, 12' Remote Switch.

In 1998 he paid $699 + cover $40 + shipping $47 for it and used it twice. Been stored in his garage since 2002.

Yep, I'm happy. Now to install it, guess I need to some homework.

Mudrunner
I have the Warn XD9000i on my SWB, with the winch plate. Had to make a custom mount, and frame-reinforcements all out of 1/4" to box it in.

I did hang my vehicle from a lift plus pull a 7000lbs + stuck in the mud SUV so I know it's good...

Oh yeah... you better have the electrical system to back it up !!
