So I was talking to a friend of mine today, and found out that he's selling some big tires and axles. I happen to be looking for some, but I'm not sure if I want to go this big. He's got a H.D D44 and a ford 10.25 rear diff, with brand new wheels and 39.5X13.5 Iroks. He'll sell me the whole package for 2G's. I have a set of springs that will give me the height I need, and I've got a V8 drivetrain ready to be swapped in, but I was only planning on going 35's or maybe 37's. Are 39.5's and full width diffs too big? is there such a thing as too big?
Thought I'd add... My friend is building a stretched Jeep YJ on a shortened 3/4 tonne Ford frame, with a 7.3 Turbo Diesel. He was going to be running the 39.5's but he got a deal on a set of unimog portal axles and he's going to be running something in the 44-54" range.

I haven't quite decided what to do yet, I was hoping to keep the raider streetable enough to drive to and from the trails, as I don't have a tow vehicle or trailer. I think the monster truck stance may attract a little attention from the law. I'm trying to talk another friend into buying them and selling me his waggy axles and 38x11 boggers, he's been talking about going bigger for a while now, and his set up would work well in my raider.
