Simple question- when ya'll doing axle work or stuff that requires disconnecting the brake lines, what do you plug them with to keep from losing fluid while you work?

In the rear, there's a trick... follow the brake lines across the axle to the T where the R and L sides connect and go to the LSPV.
If you disconnect the line there, you can conveniently thread a std M10 1.25 bolt into that T on either/both sides, blocking it off. Yes you will lose a little from the line going into the wheel, but not much. I like threading something in better than the caps b/c it makes a "real" seal... if it's going to be of for a little while, and you were to forget it and jump in and press teh brake, this will hold pressure. The caps above will just blow off.

unf I can't help you on teh front, that hasn't come up for me (yet).

Vacuum caps. Thank you. I had a couple, but didn't know what they were called (and I used to work in a parts store!)

Wooden golf tees also work a treat when you are stretched!

I took a couple of old rubber brake lines and cut the female ends off and brazed them shut.

dang guys.. all it takes to keep the fluid from running out.. on a short repair is a Q tip broke in half and shoved up into the line. stick part first. it will drip a bit. but will keep the fluid from just pouring out.

I used a glob of chewing gum once too. Still leaked a little but did the job temporarily!

Most of mine are not short repairs, for short repairs, I use vacuum caps. Used a pencil once and the dang thing broke off and the brake on that side did not work very well.
