Getting the Wheeling Fever
I do recall that someone had posted about the resistance values on tank sending units. A search has led some interesting reading but not what I need.

84 Runner, carbureted.

Gas gauge was working when I got this thing but the last time I put gas in it(a long time ago)the gauge read nothing.
I did have the tank out to do some welding. I am reasonably sure that the wires where all plugged in but you never know.

Maybe a ground? Any info or a link to the old post(might have been 2 years ago) would be helpful. Thanks

Sending unit read 155 ohms. I decided to take it out of the tank and see if something was hung up. I recall a while back someone had the same problem. After hooking up a meter and moving the arm back and forth a couple of times I realized that the sender was toast. Intermittent open and erratic readings.

Off to the dealer I go for a new sender. He tells me 6 different senders where made and only 2 are available. In Japan. 1 month wait.
Now perhaps this guy isnt on the ball. Perhaps he was looking at the wrong thing.

SO.......I;m looking for a part # or a source to buy a new sender.

Call your local parts yards, or contact some of the used dealers on the internet. The last used sending unit I got only cost me $32 shipped to my door, and that was from TAP(who tend to run more than others).
