OK, so I got the 3.0 headbolt set from engnbldr....since these are not TTY bolts, do I follow the same torque procedure as outlined in the FSM, particularly the 3 step progressive torqueing? Or, is there a set torque I should apply in a cross pattern and that's it?

Why not e-mail or call EB for the correct answer? engnbldr@engnbldr.com (503) 257-7947 9am-4pm Pacific M-F

Use the same specs as stock, 33# in sequence, then 1/4 turn in sequence, then 1/4 turn again....*EB

Seems to me there's a TSB out there for that torque sequence Ted.
For the poster, go to the library link in the FSM sticky in this section and look up your rig; should find the TSB there, IIRC. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

Actually, since we're all here, I have another question. When I re-torque, I assume I use the same exact procedure? Or, if they are all still holding over 33#, do I still do (2) 1/4" turns?
Basically, I mean, if I don't have a final torque setting, how do I know they're tight enough and all tightened the same amount? With TTY bolts, they'll stretch so I can see why you could give it another go around and still keep uniformity.
Or, do I need to quit over-analyzing all this and just do what I'm told?

The only difference in this type of bolt compared to stock is they stretch the same way but don't stay stretched should you need to remove them. Thus reusable several times should you need to. Actually Toyota says theirs are also reusable, but we tried that several times and had just one or two unhappy results so we started replacing them every time....*EB
