I get ME013307. I'm going to have some OE filters coming from Japan (provided they're not too much $) so I may not need any for a while, but it would be good to find a local source, if its a direct replacement.

Matt, I can't speak to bypass or no. Never ever seen a 4m40 in person (yet). BTW, I checked ebay for the pump seal you were talking about, and I think I found the one you bought in the UK - it includes instructions, and costs ú20, converting to about $40 CAD at the moment. Sound about right?

...and the LF3830 crosses over to a Baldwin BD7028, which again is almost the same size. ALL I can say is we have been using a BD28 for almost 2 months without a problem.

I think I am going to go pick up a BD7028 filter and give it a try. It seems to be the crossover that we would be looking for even though I have been using the BD28. I hope Acklands Grainger has one or can get one in. I am going to phone up the wife ( She works at Acklands) and see what I can try and figure out this weekend.

Any updates for us Matthew? I heard back on my prices for filters from Japan, and they're VERY VERY pricey.

I did my first oil change on the 4m40 yesterday. The filter that was there looked like it had been there a while, and it was loose too, so I replaced it with one I had on hand from the 4d56. Its a Wix 51067. It did fit, although side by side the can is slightly shorter. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has tried the one Matthew referenced two posts above yet...

Hey everyone

Finally had a chance to get online today. Just finished changing the oil in Pajero today and tried a new filter...Baldwin bd7095 from Acklands Grainger. About 2 inches longer than a bd28 but not probs with fitment. The good thing is its half the price of a bd28, I don't get it. Retails for slighly over $20 at Acklands here in Edmonton, so it is actually guite a good price for a good brand of filter compared to some of the other junk I have seen sold around here.

Also, if any one is lurking around here with an Isuzu Bighorn, the bd28, bd7095 oil filers, and bf7534 fuel filter is an exact match too. Trying to find filter info. for these rigs here in Canada is almost impossible. Did this one today too.
