Checking in here. A few things. First, in the latest additional of 4x4 and Sport Utility they do a trip from Grand Junction to Moab(bi-passing the first leg since they are so slow) It is something that peaked my interest. I tried to do this LONG ago, but was turned around above RattleSnake canyon due to a nightmare of clay roads after a serious storm. It requires a major river forde and some interesting dug ways. If we did something like that Hole-N-The-Rock would be cut out at the end. Solving our overlap of the other group issue.

If we keep the same itinerary, the way I see it I have a radically different plan from the other group, and passing on Saturday would be the only issue.

AZ89Raider, equipment for this trip is not real important. The most important gear is 2-3 spare jerry cans, and the ability to be self sufficient for many days on end. The only way to do a shorter version is to start with us at the beggining and find an early day to leave. We do NOT allow mid way meet ups, as they simply lead to chaos.

I guess we should have everyone check in that is going for sure and get a new head count.

Looks like an interesting trip... I'm going to find myself in the same area around the same time, but won't have the full week to spend unfortunately.

If you guys see this rig, stop & say hello <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

(finally got around to having a running 4.3 in a 2dr... just it's not a Montero this time) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

FYI, as of this past weekend the route that takes you just above the washout in Lake Canyon on Hole in the Rock is no longer. Someone sabotaged it to the point where it is only passable by an ATV at best. The only option now is the alternate route which is pretty much nothing more than a graded road until you get to 1 mile before the junction of the old trail.

PS: WHy doesn't anyone ever answer PM's around here?

Yeah I thought I'd be making it but "stuff" came up. Plus I'm trying to get the '91 sold to fund the '93 rebuild.

You know I probably got some pretty important info you all might be interested in but being that nobody can seem to answer a simple PM I guess you all can deal with the hefty fines. Good Luck
