Does anyone know if I can swap the inputshaft from my '00 NP247 into a '98 NP231 that was mated to a AX-5.

They can't help me with anything but selling me a new inputshaft. Thing is that my Grand has a np247 and I can buy a post 95 NP231 from a 4cyl wrangler, so I was hoping that someone could tell me if it will fit or not.

A friend of mine just did this swap, it worked great! He needed a new linkage and new drive shafts, other than that it bolted in. Try it and let us know how it goes!

That sounds good, now I just have to strike a deal with the owner of the T-case. One other thing, can the whole input-assembly be swaped betwen cases. That meaning the inputshaft, the casing around it and the big cog that is fixed in the housing. If that's possible then gear cut angle and all that New process mumbo jumbo wouldn't make any difference since the correct input-assembly could be swapped in.
Did anyone understand that one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

you should put that 231 on the monster paj, That'll get those silly big tires turning easier.
