Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm installing an ARB locker in the front of my '89 V6 Raider. While I have everything apart, I decided to replace the seals where the axle goes into the front hub (on the inboard side of the hub). The problem is that the seal the dealer lists is different than the one I removed. It is slightly to small (.030") on the O.D. It is loose in the hole in the hub.

The attached picture shows the front and back of both seals (the old seal is on the right of both views). The old seal has a metal flange or splash guard that nests with a similar flange on the axle (on the far right of the upper view you can see where I bent this flange). The new seal does not have this flange. The new seal has a part number of MB526395, which other posts here seem to agree is the correct number.

Any idea on how I get the right seal that fits?

More Information:

This old thread shows the same seal as the new one I have, and there is no comment that it doesn't fit (although one person did mention that it just pushed in with finger pressure):

For reference, the old seal has this number molded into it:
NSA 5676 6-12SJ

Need a Spot
Sela on the left side is for wheel bearings protection.

On the right side is another seal(no.32325)on the picture.

Position 32325 is MB160850 - You can use seal from Timken no: 710146

Thanks, I'll try that part number. But the support arms (32212R and 32212L) in the figure are quite different than on my vehicle. Do you know if my Gen 1 vehicle takes the same seal?

Thanks

Yep beth seals look correct. They just go in different spots. The one on the right side I think is a dealer only item. I think.

So keep the new ones as well.

Dont go by the part number in the pic. The number you need is MB160850

How did you get it out without slaughtering it?

Here is where you can get it. Or buy it local faster without shipping charges but you may have to pay More then list price.

I got the right seals today. Thanks to both powah and Tag for providing the correct part number. Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to get the right seals. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

To answer Tag, here is what I used to remove the seal (but I did destroy the seal getting it out):

For future reference, here is a picture of the new "knuckle oil seal":
