Since about '95 I've had an '87 Montero (second owner) with gray vinyl seats. My question is how many actually came with vinyl rather than cloth seats. I can't say that I've seen any others.
My new (to me) tan Raider has tan cloth which I just don't like as much as the vinyl. Do I have a diamond in the rough or am I just crazy and there are vinyl seats everywhere?

I haven't ever seen vinyl seats in one. Not stock, at least.
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

I've had two Monteros with vinyl seats, both mid to late 86 models. I've seen two others in the various wrecking yards over some 20 years. So, not many came to the US market equipped this way. ??

My 87 Montero donor has vinyl. The seats were rather blown out. I still have the interior panels. It did not have any upper panels anywhere above the bottom edge o the windows. In hind sight, it was kind of cool. But the body was far worse that the Raider I built from.

I find that the cloth lays flat again after a good pucker ride. Much better than the vinyl.
Well on my way to becoming that eccentric old man in every town.(crazy as a s#@thouse rat) With a yard full of desireable old vehicles that tells you, Sorry they're not for sale..... Someday I'm going to fix them.

Good, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. The vinyl seats are in really good shape. The same can't be said for my cloth seats. I'm half tempted to swap out the gray interior for the tan one. (The one with the gray interior has because a parts vehicle.)
Do you think it wold look terrible to have gray in tan (outside) car?

Do you think it wold look terrible to have gray in tan (outside) car? You should ask a girl or an interior designer. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
