Need a Spot
Sadly, it seems as if my Guntero has a substantial oil leak. After much dripped oil and a professional diagnosis, it has been determined that the valve seals are gone as well as the gaskets. After 275k + lovely miles, i beleive its time (and have been advised) to do an engine swap.

Which engines are perfectly compatible with my 1995 LS? And what would be the best of these to drop into my Guntero?

Thanks

Why not just rebuild the one you have, or get another Monty 3.0 24V? Nothing is "perfectly compatible," though there are other possibilities.

Start with a search on this one, as it comes up on a quarterly basis. Especially look at posts by FrankR and OldColt.

But doesn't "perfectly compatuble" have to be defined in terms of needs? As in, Diamante engine is not the exact same as a Montero. It can go in, and very well might be worth having in. But it depends on the needs.

Similarly, some variations could need some form of "fitment" to make them work. Maybe nothing much, but not necesarily plug-and-play like a Montero engine.

Disclaimer: This is all based on my memory of past threads, and not on any factual first hand knowledge. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
