I am testing the TPS on my 91 V6 and was wondering if anyone knows why the VTA-ET reading would start at about 1200ohms? From what I found the reading should be between 200-800. As I open the throttle, it actually drops to about 800 or 900 and then climbs steadily from there to full open at about 5000ohms. Does it just need a slight adjustment so the lowest spot becomes full close or could it be hooped. The other readings seem to be in spec.
91 SR5 Xtra Cab, 298000km, 4" lift, 56" rear springs, 33-12.5R15 BFG Mud-Terran T/A KM2.....and an '85 axle still waiting to go in.

Need a Spot

From my experience with 85 22re tps, I think the main thing thats wrong with them is they have dead spots as you slowly turn it hooked to an analog meter. I may be wrong but actual ohm readings are irrelevent. There is also a volt test you can do from the FSM. It must also have a sure closed reading too.

Agree.. sounds like the TPS above has dead spots.. if it were mine, I'd go ahead and replace it...
