So, a couple weeks ago I went wheeling. After driving through a moderately deep puddle (maybe a foot and a half) my Trooper started running rough. It took a lot of throttle to keep it running. Every now and then, it would idle OK until I stepped on the gas, then it would sputter. I checked under the hood and there was some water splashed up onto the top of the engine, but nothing major. I managed to get it home, but I noticed that I used a lot of fuel doing so, and I could smell gas pretty strongly. I checked the distributer and it isn't wet inside. When I checked the codes, it gave me code 42, which has something to do with spark timing or something like that.
Anybody have this issue before or have any suggestions?
