Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just got the engine installed back in my '88 toy, It idles fine, and reves up well if I do it slowly. If I floor it quickly it bogs down badly. I've tried 2 different AFM's and messed with the TPS just by hand, and it doesn't seem to matter. It's as if it's hitting fuel cut. Only engine mods are I/H/E and mild cam (NWOR I think) Any thoughts? This is the not so rare 22RE.

Might check for cracks in the intake tubing between the AFM and the throttle body. Sometimes the rubber parts can crack and as the engine twists under hard acceleration, those cracks can pull open and the air leak will cause the engine to stumble and stall.

Body Damage is Cool
Usually its hard to adjust the TPS correctly without a feeler gauge. I would do that.

Have you measured/tested the fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure was around 40, I've got a gauge for it. It reves up no problem if you throttle it slowly, if you do it fast or full it bogs and really sounds like it may be cutting fuel. I've ordered another TPS just in case this one's bad, the spare I had was for the later throttle body. When I test it I seem to be able to get it within spec, but just in case there's dead spots or some other issue I'll have a second one to try.
