Swap looks great, but you're gonna HATE HATE HATE HATE that D30.

It's seriously crap.

Thanks. I plan to upgrade the front axle. I happened to have the D30 laying around so I used it. Next summer maybe

Good work, glad to see you found it for $200 and already built it up <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Whats next on the list, gettin rid of some of that rust? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Lots of rust to get rid of!! I plan to upgrade to a heavier front axle, swap in a 4.3L vortec, and get some lockers (i need them bad!)

I only had the truck for like 3 weeks before I swapped it. It was very capable stock, but the front end was in bad shape so I figured good time to swap.

I love this thing, and they are very rare around here. Everyone calls it a JEEP, so I have to instantly correct them. "Its no HEEP"

Thanks

Welcome! Nice work. I really like your roof rack. Do you have any pics showing the gutter mounts? Did you make those too?

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Ill snap a pic tomorrow. I got lazy and instead of building clamps (I had some started) I welded crossbars to the gutters and then bolted the rack to those. The rack has lights and my Hi-Lift on it now. Those pics are from this summer, so I'll try to get some new ones soon. I'll throw up a pic of my anti-wrap bar too.

Thanks

No, thats the crappy part. The front is 5 on 4.5 and the rear is 6 on 5.5 so I have to carry two spares. Hopefully I can find a D44 with 6 lug in the future. For now, it works, and spare wheels and tires are cheap. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Keep the D30, truss it and throw in some 30 spline alloys and you will be fine. It is already there and the work is done. Just don't run huge tires, go easy on the throttle and it will last.

Looks good though!
