Getting the Wheeling Fever
i was driving on i79 in morgantown wv about 100 miles from home and all of a sudden she quit. there was no jerking or sputtering she just shut off, after sitting on the side of the road for 5 hours in 18* weather and nobody stopping to see if i was ok even though i had my flashers on and wrote help on the back of my monty. well finally my cousin came and said the fuel pump didnt sound like it was getting power or was bad so we replaced it.

after replacing it it still wouldnt start and when we checked for spark from the coil there was none.

besides replacing the coil what else should i check?

My Raider did the SAME THING. Check your ECU, I found that my windshield leaked onto the ECU causing the connections to become too corroded. If you have a spare swap them out.

Check there first and report back.

would the tbelt breaking cause no spark at the coil?

That stupid little black box next to the coil will stop spark. There is also a sensor in the dizzy that will stop spark. Did you try the fuel pump tester plug to power it, or just turn the key? I dont think it runs if you just turn the key. If it is a broken timing belt, it will sound weird when spinning just the bottom of the engine over. The ECU will also just die with no warning. It should give you a check engine code though. Did you check those?

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

NAPA P/N TP125 Ignition Control Module.

You need to take out the ECU first and smell for nasty fish, which means mushroomed caps. That's the first place to start...

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...
