I'm close to getting new tires, 265/75R16s (32"), for the Trooper. These are slightly smaller than my current tires 255/85R16s (33"). My current spare tire has never been used and I would like to keep it as a spare to save a few bucks. But if I actually need to use it will the size difference be an issue? That is, will driving with one slighly larger tire until a repair is made ruin anything on the Trooper?<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
Sadly I had to get rid of my 1996 Trooper 3.2L due to a rusted frame. _________________________________________________

It might. If you have the rear LSD, different size tires on the same axle can burn up the clutches. And you might have binding in 4WD, although you wouldn't be using 4WD on dry pavement anyway.
You can put it on front and stay in 2WD safely...which is a bit of a pain if one of the rears blows, but is do-able.
