My daughter's Sport has developed a problem I believe is related to the fuel gauge sending unit. If the fuel tank is not absolutely full, and you park on a slight incline, the fuel gauge sticks on "EMPTY" and the check engine light will come on. This is intermittent problem, the check engine light goes on and off, and the vehicle passed emissions this week. A fellow Isuzu owner told me the gauge can go bad and cause this, there was a replacement kit for the sending unit that cost about $85.00 but labor to install this is about $250.00.
If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate hearing about it.

You will need to test to determine if the gauge or the sending unit is truly at fault. I sounds like an electrical connection problem somewhere, maybe in the sending unit itself, maybe not.
Even with the light off, if the check engine light came on it should have stored a code. Have you checked for stored codes?

It is the sending unit.
If you are the original owner with under 120k on the ticker it is a free fix.
I have the same issue and I have been waiting a month for the part to be in stock (my dealer thinks is need to replace the entire fuel pump, which they can, since I'm not paying for it).

I am not the original owner, vehicle has 106,000 miles.
It threw the following codes.
Electronic Control Unit ID: 10 PO342
Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input (Bank1 or Single Sensor) PO463
Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Input P1627
