I am not a Rodeo guy, but I don't think a 95 has the shift-on-the-fly system. So we should be looking at a lever shifted transfer case with "automatic" hubs, correct?

Steve, thats correct... non-SOTF, lever actuated, with automatic hubs.
BEA, is it stuck in 4Hi or 4Lo? will it go between lo and hi range?

In my limited experience with an issue like this, the window of opportunity to get out of 4x was by putting it in reverse, then just as you begin to apply torque, giving the lever everything you've got.
Good luck.
