Anyone ever heard of this odd old breed? My wife and I have been considering getting another dog, but we've held off because our lifestyle is not the most dog-friendly now that we both work and our toddler is at grandma's 4 days a week. So I've been casually looking through breed information pages for a child-friendly couch potato, and I found this breed:
Glen of Imaal Terrier Looks like it would be a PITA to find one since it's UK- but not AKC-recognized. Appears for all intents and purposes to be like a giant Cairn terrier. A medium dog on little legs, but no history of extra health/hip/joint problems even with the somewhat disproportionate shape of them. Not the most macho-looking of dogs I know, but it seems nearly ideal for our situation.
I swore that we would never have anything "yappy" but these guys are apparently quiet, bred into them from their badger-hunting days in Ireland. Plus the size means they're past "yappy" in pitch. A couple information pages I read said the bark was much deeper than you would figure because of the body size versus their short legs. Anyone got any info? [cross posted in a couple places I frequent]

Looks like a great dog. The only thing I noticed by looking at photos is the mouth. The fur gets nasty from the dog bowl.

Like to vacuum dog hair? I vote against long coated dogs, much as I loved the ones we had, like a plush coated white german shephard, which made riding in the car in late spring with the windows open like riding in a snowstorm...

We have a West Highland White Terrier and it's coat, while long, does not shed that much. Since they are a mix of the Cairn Terrier and Scotty they are similar to the dog he's looking at. (just a little smaller) Long haired doesn't always spell lots of shedding.

Tesla Mario Brothers music

The arcs are not going in time with the music. The arcs are making the music with their own modulated buzz. They call it a Zeusaphone...

Haha, I knew this was offtopic, but that's really offtopic, LOL.

All the breed guides for this one say the shedding is minimal to zero, surprisingly.
