Before I get flamed here, i just want to say that yes i was dumb for leaving my car unlocked. BUT at least I'm not paying for a window now too. I've always believed that criminals will do what they want, and locking your car just means you're going to be paying for damage done to your car in addition to the lost property.

I called the police and the cop that showed up was not happy to be there. I felt bad that I didn't have a body for him or something. He took about a minute to write down what had happened and was headed back to his car when I asked if he could check for finger prints. He rolled his eyes and grabbed a flashlight. He then went back to the car and used the flashlight to look for fingerprints. I figured he'd at least take the picture and smokes that were lying there back to a lab. I was wrong. I hate calling cops. What a waste of time.

Next radio gets shotgun shells mounted under it...

Here's a crazy idea that will absolutley date me.

Back in highschool, I had a SWEEEEEEEEEEET Alpine tape deck.

I was afraid someone would jack it, so I took apart the OEM Ford AM/FM that it replaced and made a fake faceplate for the Alpine that made it look like a Ford radio.

When I got out of the car, I'd click the dummy face on, and no one ever tried to break in.

It never got broken into...Either my tom-foolery worked to the 't'...or it was the fact that it was a 1988.5 Ford Escort Four Door.

I'd like to attribute it to the former, but I know its probably 98% attributable to the latter.

I Don't live in OTR thank you lol. I was actually thinkin about doing a Dummy radio. I'd like to rig up some kind of home made security system too. My saturn is a no thrills ride. Manual everything. Hell, I have to hum now or sing to myself lol.

I'll have to tinker a bit, and do some cypherin, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Body Damage is Cool
Property crimes are so numerous any follow-up or fingerprint lifting is rarely beneficial to the victim...

That being said i hate tweakers...

That sucks man. Last time a tweaker tried taking my nice XM radio and such he received a proper beating. he scrambled off with 2 cig lighters and a VW cig flashlight. He is lucky I didn't have access to the jack bar.

Sorry to hear it. I know how it burns because it's happened to me twice when I lived in LA. First time they got my Blaupunkt $800 deck out of my 67 Camaro. I was a broke college student so I bought a "sparkamatic" at K-mart for $29. They stole that also about 6 months later
