Wifey wants a 2in body lift on her 4runner
My 86 didnt need any modifications to do a body lift. Just had to adjust the steering column and cut some metal for the transfer shifter to stay in gear. Maybe it was 1.5in, Ill have to check...
Anyways, Are there any considerations lifting a 97 ?

I'm givin up my toy and goin VWesty. Got my Westy and another Toy:)

Yep, and they are detailed at 4Crawler's site. You'll need a steering spacer, f/r bumper brackets, and radiator brackets. There is adjustment for the trans linkage.

The 4Crawler link isn't working for me right now, but I just want to add a comment about the rear bumper. Do you really need any sort of bracket for the rear bumper? The stock rear bumper is a bit weird in that it's mounted to the body, not the frame, so I doubt it would be affected by a body lift. I don't have a body lift, so I'm not an expert on that. I did replace my rear bumper so I'm aware of what it was originally mounted to.

Ahhhh thats right, its body mounted. But the trailer hitch is frame mounted, so you can probably flip the hitch upside down, or just remove the hitch altogether. Otherwise there will be a gap.

3" is a little too much. Angles on your CV's and ball joints will be too much and wear stuff out prematurly.

2 to 2.5" inches is safer.
