Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hola, everyone. Its been a while. Finally putting my sweet 22R into my 85 22RE 4WD. However, my 22RE downpipe is crap. Can I just use my (perfect) 22R pipe on it? That sure would be handy... Thanks. -Micah.

Sure, as long as the head has the pear-shaped exhaust ports, you're good to go.

Righteous. But will it mess with my power? I'm already stuck with the 22R cam- don't wanna make it worse. I'd think that it'd make the low end pull nice, but what do I know. For clarity- I'm converting my 22R to FI.

You do have the bung for your 02sensor on the exhaust manifold, yes?

No- they're two different animals for sure. The FI pipe has a short (6" or so) Y-section; the other about 2 feet. They do have the same overall length, though.

Body Damage is Cool
I've mixed and matched y-pipes, splice in 02 sensor mounts, extended them, shortened them... you'll be fine, just make it work.

Yeah- I'm down for that. Especially since I've resigned to it anyhow. Thanks for your all inputs!
