Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello.... I am in the process to change some things on my Montero 82. I already install power windows, power locks, new wheel, painted dash, replace interior side panels doors for grey ones, alarm, a new stereo Keenwood %$408U and two sets of speakers... now... because the cargo space is so tiny.. and the inside cabin is bassless, i need to install a subwoofer, not to be louder, just I would like to hear decent music so I ask if you can give me any ideas to make a box (wood, MDF, fiberglass) for a Slim Pionner 10" Subwoofer....

I was thinking use the left or right side from the back of the Montero and try to use the space between the seats and behind the side panel......

Thansk for your help.

I've seen some 6" subs that might fit the b-pillar, behind and beside the front seats where the seatbelts mount. I'm not sure on the '82 model, but all my 2-doors have had a speaker provision there. You could also create some boxes and put them behind the front seats in the footwell area.

There should be enough room under the front seats for small ones.

This is what I came up with. You do sacrifice quite a bit of the room behind the rear seats, but it doesn't bother me.

The enclosures are called "quad-pods" and they are made for Jeep Wranglers.
