I have an oil leak from the valve cover gaskets, but I am a bit intimated by the removal of the intake manifold (95-4R;V6)How difficult is this job for an intermediate mechi? Any suggestions are appreciated. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Its very simple actually. Only PITA is all of the vacuum lines hooked up to the manifold.
There are a few methods of doing this job. One is to LABEL (I cant stress this enough) and remove ALL of the vacuum lines, fuel lines, and EGR pipes hooked up to the manifold, and remove the manifold completely from the truck.
The other one is to only remove the hard lines that will not bend, such as the fuel line (cold start injector) and EGR pipes. Then, you can CAREFULLY lift the intake manifold up enough to gain access to the valve cover. Get a bungee cord and tie it up out of the way so you can do your work. You shouldn't have to remove any of the vacuum lines.
One thing you will want to do while your in there, is replace the PCV valve and the rubber grommet it sits in. Virtually impossible to replace these items unless you remove the intake manifold.
Use a digital camera and take a BUNCH of pictures at different angles BEFORE you tear it apart so you can make sure it gets put back together properly.

To also add to Adam's bit, get some cardboard to punch down your bolts into, in the pattern in which you remove them. That way you know where they all go as well. Mark your cardboard to orient front and back.
Yepper ma'yun, label and photo are huge help, esp if you wind up not getting back to it right away.
