I have a 89xj 4.0 needs work.I needed to replace leaking injectors.I heard that it was ok to use ford injectors. So I attempted to use 6 ford 24# injectors (free). Now It will not start. I have spark and fuel in the rail.Any suggestions will be very helpful.

I donno nothin bout them ford injectors... But I do know to squirt some fuel (any type) into the TB to see if it is a fuel problem OR a lectric problem..If it sputters from the fuel you squirt in there it is a fuel problem, if not it is lectric.. do that and get back here with the results.

Ok then Houston we have a problem...with the injectors (FORD)! I think I'd be for putting a couple of MOPAR ones back in there and see if I got a sputter out of the few I replaced.. If so then I'd be thinking the Ford ones weren't compatable.

I don't really know enough bout injectors to even be posting in this thread...but that said I'm thinking the injector is looking for a certain voltage and a certain fuel pressure..and the ford ones ain't getting one or the other.

Lots of the SoCalXJ guys run Ford 5.0 injectors. Not for performance... only 'cause parts for the 5.0 are cheaper. They buy from here: http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/

IIRC, 19lb works for an unmodified 4.0 engine. There are a number of 19lb choices, however, and I don't remember the part number.
