Getting the Wheeling Fever

My friend has an Toyota 83 longbed.
I had an Toyota 85 4runner.
He want to switch out his Differential equipped with a Detroit Locker (front and rear) and Transfer case (Marlin gear in it).
Are these swappable?

Generally yes, the 3rd members will swap directly. As far as the transfer case, should also swap although you may need to deal with differences in the shifters if one case is set up as a top shift and the other is a forward *****: - http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/topshifter/
