oil is blowing back up through carb.

do you mean that oil is blowing up into the air cleaner?
run a compression test as mentioned, you can pick up a tester for about $30 and if you can change plugs you can run the test. if your intake gasket leaks your screwing up the fuel/air ratio and in turn your rig will run like crap. you can seach for a intake leak by spraying around it with wd while its running. run the comp test, post the numbers and replace the intake gasket then go from there. btw, does it smoke and welcome to the wire.

It doesn't hardly smoke but you can smell oil a little, and when you have the lid closed it starts back firing through the carb, and when you open it a puff of smoke will come out blueish color. I was gonna work on it today but it was raining, and currently our garage is full so no go. I need do need to check the intake gasket though, and run compression test.

Welcome to the post. I live in Nappanee Indiana. I bought and built an 89 SWB for my son last fall. Needless to say I have got to know this unit very well. I am a heavy equipment mechanic by trade and have built several jeeps,
so if you need some help let me know. :cheers jamesm@moxytrucks.com

ok still dealing with the crappy idle I believe its a vaccum problem, cause im getting good spark, and as far as I can tell fuel too.....does anyone one have any vaccum diagrams or can tell me where the green dash line ones route or the blue line, because ether one of these have near zero vaccum? I know the green is for the EGR I believe. also one last question when reinstalling the carb on the side closest to the head there was a a tube coming out but I did not find a vaccum line that went to it, and had none marked for that spot when I labeled them all as I took them off. I did however find a rubber nipple with no spot to go on so I put it there is this correct? any help would be greatly appreciated

IIRC, there are only a couple of vac ports on the pside of the carb. One is the line to acutate the secondary throttle plate, and the other is the aux accel valve which squirts fuel to the secondary barrel (again, IIRC).

I'd download the fsm from MontyMcV's site to get the vac diagram, which is rather confusing.

Several of the vac lines only have vac when the engine is warmed up (they go thru the thermo vac valve on the water neck, the black plastic thing), and others are ported vac, where the vac port in the carb barrel is above the throttle plate rather than below it, and only see vac when the throttle is opened past the port (see the diagram). You need to know if your truck is Kali or federal, and whether or not it's got the high altitude junk.
