Hope you're on the air Ted...

30psi on #6 (175 on the others), no fluid loss, recall head gaskets in place. Me and local dealer Master Tech think all valve clearance is lost and exhaust valve is hanging open (no backfire thru intake and I smell fuel when sitting at stop light). I know it's a band-aid to a bigger problem but your opinion welcomed...

Thin the shim to restore clearance and keep the valve backseated? Hope the seat wont creep any more. Heads aren't in the budget under current administration :-)

Thanks
-Grizz

>>>*This is pretty common, the only thing to do is replace the shims to get the lash back in spec and see what happens. If it is an exhaust valve too snug it should help for awhile.

*Odds are high the valve is damaged. A leakdown test will tell you if it is....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

It was #6E. Reshimmed at .006 did the trick for now. Should get me to the beach and back one more year. Besides 225k is way too early to be put out to pasture. Thanks Ted
