Back when I had a regular cab, that sliding rear window was wonderfull. Just reach back and flick it open.
Nowdays, I have an SR5 T-100, so there's a rear seat back there in between me and the sliding rear window. So it stays closed because it's just too darn awkward and far away to reach back and open.
Just wondering if any of you folks have come up with a clever solution to be able to open that window readily.

I can reach it from the drivers seat to snap the clasp shut no prblem. Do it all the time when I'm driving and I hear a whistling coming from the window and realize I forgot to close the latch.
To open it? My best trick?
"Hey hon, reach back there and open the window please."
Works like a champ. The key is saying please. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I thought of a cool trick to open/close the two rear pop-out side windows with the push of a button, just havenÆt done it yet. I plan to go to the local pick n pull and find a Dodge mini van with those rear side windows that open and close with the push of a button from up front. There is a powered arm on the rear of each pop-out window that pushes the window out/ pulls the window in. It seems it would work on our extra cab pickups.(same concept anyway) Thought it would be cool to try but havenÆt taken any measurements yet to see for sure if it will work. As far as the rear slider, the only trick I know is how to keep it shut so people donÆt break in. I put aluminum rods in the widow track on each side that can be easily removed but keep people from prying the slider open!

I dont remember where I saw it, but they make kits that open them electronically.
