Getting the Wheeling Fever
Gonna SAS my 88 this spring and i've decided to make things easy and just go with trail gear SAS kit. But im wondering about clearance between the tires and back side of the front wheel wells. I've seen some SAS's that left screw all for clearance under full compression, and the owner ended up hacking away at his wheel well, instead of relocating his mounts. I would reeeeally like to avoid this since simply moving the axle forward is way better than feeling a rubbing sensation in your feet at full comp <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I would idealy like to have the axle as forward as you would from doing say rears up front. Il be running 35s for now with the 4 inch kit and a 3" body lift which i will cut down/remove accordingly. Those of you who have done the TG SAS please feel free to chime in. Thanks.

Body Damage is Cool
I haven't done it, but I believe most SAS jobs either come with springs that have the locating pin moved a couple of inches forward or they use relocating plates that fit between the spring and the axle. In any case it seems like it's real common. The kit seller should be able to tell you about it. I know All Pro Offroad, Marlin Crawler, and Sky Manufacturing all have people who will talk to you about it. -- Matt
