Need a Spot
I just hit 105K miles on my 1996 T-100 2WD extend cab and am tired of the bumpiness and 'boat feel swaying'. The original shocks are still on my ride (and evidently leaking some oil). I just ordered two KYB Gas-a-Just Shocks for the front and the corresponding ones for the rear. I don't go off-roading at all.. strictly asphalt with the rare stone\gravel driveway.

I hadn't been on this forum for a couple years and went to logon today and found that my account had been removed. I am back and found everyone here super helpful (posters helped me change my rotors and pads in the front brake system years ago here). I was just wondering how to go about changing the shocks out. Do I jack-up the chassis and like start with the driver-side front, then passenger front, then rear passenger and then rear driver? You can tell I've never done this either before. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
The auto shop across from my job wants $510 for labor and parts to do this job.

I appreciate any advise, tips, hints, etc on shock swapping.

Body Damage is Cool
Nothing special or tricky about it. It's easiest if the particular corner is jacked up and the wheel removed. That gives you lots of room to work. Pick a corner to start with, it doesn't matter.

Pretty simple. I used an impact and a wrench to take them off and put'em on. Took maybe 20 minutes, rears are easier than the fronts tho, removed the wheels when I did the fronts.
