You should drive it out here and we'll sit down and have a serious look at it. I'm sure you have plenty of room

I did. Yesterday.

1 other thing... where can I get grade 8 bolts for the bumper and winch? Home Depot? Orchard Hardware? Lowes? Online?

I know a guy who sells nuts and bolts for a living...even higher than grade 8...for military apps and such. Let me know what you need and I can find out what they cost...might be able to get a good deal. Send me a pm if interested.

Thanks for the offer. I was contacted back by Mile Marker who recommend upgrading my Grade 5 bolts to Grade 8. I'll check the local sources and will contact you if they seem out of line.

Tractor Supply for grade 8 nuts and bolts. Lowes et al have them but they are expensive by comparison. Tractor Supply sells by the pound

Thanks for suggesting Tractor Supply. I hadn't even considered them since we're not really rural where most TS stores are found. The closest one is about 40 miles away in Gilroy just off the start of Pacheco Pass.

Hmmmm You local guys wanna do a Hollister run? Then I can swing buy the tractor supply on the way.

OK, I just checked their website.

Here's what I got just now... shows a price of $4.29. Doesn't say anything about what unit that's based on or the quantity. Is that a per pound price?

I used Grade 8 when I put my hitch on, and Tractor Supply was MUCH cheaper than any of the hardware stores, as MS said, they're priced per pound!

That was exactly my thought. I assumed he was referring to a female coworker or something.

back ot, im holding out for the new smittybilt ripoff of the warn powerplant for half the cost. i couldnt see your pics, but you should be just fine with 1/4 plate as long as youve got good welds. when it comes to bolts just dont look at tensile strenght but look at the sheering point and where they were made. i called industrial supply awhile back and they were able to give me all the technical info on some bolts that i need for a rear receiver.
