I love this forum, and I particularly love how much the folks here try to help one another. I have been fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of some great advice and help with both of my rides. Because I find posts with photos help me the best, I thought I'd include a few of my recent removal and cleaning of the A/T switch on my SR.

Here's the switch removed.

You can see from these two photos that the switch is comprised of 2 main pieces - the outer housing with the rocker switch, and the inner sleeve.

Here's the underside of the outer housing. Note the orange coloured receiver piece which moves back and forth with the action of the rocker switch (that the little white contact slider fits into). The inner sleeve contains the switch light and the contact surface --- see how grungy mine was! That little white piece is slid between the contact points when you rock the rocker switch.

It's really easy to get this switch gummed up as it sits right on the console where drinks and food are more likely to get spilled. Popping this out and giving it a clean eliminates that annoying and often intermittent flashing A/T light on your dash.

This little white contact slider is pretty delicate and easy to loose so make sure you pop these switches open in a clean environment in case you drop it.

All in all it's a 5 minute fix.
