i am considering doing a diesel swap into my 89 trooper 2.6. i use my trooper mainly off road. an i think the tourk an low end grunt of a I.D.I would be great not to mention the gph will be considerable less on the trail. any one done this recently or have any good info to share.

If you want to go diesel, you're talking at least a tranny swap to go with it, if you want to use the C223 that was available in the early Troops stateside.

thers inported isuzu diesel engines on e-bay. some are computerisd some are not some are a half cut with every thing from under the hood there all gen 2 troopers that i have seen. but there $2,500 to $5,000, but come with a good trans T\case. ment for that engine. overland47 has one in his pup.
